Steve Bruce has made a bold claim that a former Everton manager is better than Mikel Arteta.
Bruce has been out of management since departing West Bromwich Albion in October 2022.
The 63-year-old appeared on Mail Sport’s ‘winner stays on’ manager edition – a game consisting of picking between two bosses.
The publication posted the video on their X account and one of Bruce’s picks may raise a few eyebrows.

Steve Bruce says David Moyes is better than Mikel Arteta
Early on in the video, Bruce was tasked with the question of who the better manager is out of David Moyes and Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta. He went with the Scotsman.
Indeed, Moyes’ career in the dugout can’t be overlooked, he’s enjoyed fantastic spells most notably at Everton and West Ham United.
He was the last manager to guide The Toffees to Champions League football in 2005 and the first to win a trophy for the Hammers in 43 years.
However, in the ever-changing modern game, Arteta is considered one of the best managers in the world and his transformation of Arsenal only amplifies that notion.

Mikel Arteta is more suited to the modern game
The Spaniard has completely turned the fortunes around at the North London club, who are firmly in the mix to win their first Premier League title since 2004.
Arteta’s resume isn’t as vast as Moyes’, admittedly, but it’s pretty clear that he’ll be operating at the elite level for years to come.
Having polished his tactics under the stewardship of Pep Guardiola, the 42-year-old is the embodiment of a modern coach and isn’t far away from getting one over his previous mentor.
