Sources have confirmed to HITC that Manchester United have launched a new bid for Jarrad Branthwaite.
United agreed terms in principle with the England international last month when they made their opening bid for the Everton stopper.
Everton were quick to shun the initial offer but lines of communication remained opened whilst United assessed their options.

United lodge second bid with Everton for Jarrad Branthwaite
Now, HITC can confirm United have returned with a deal worth up to £50million – which is £10million more than the previous offer they made in mid-June.
Everton are yet to respond to the second offer, but it appears unlikely this will accept given the Merseyside outfit were looking for around £80million for the 22-year-old.
However, sources have confirmed to HITC that Branthwaite, whilst not demanding a move, has made it known to the club that he would like the chance to switch to Old Trafford.
Since their first bid, United now have a full compliment of senior staff in their footballing department after Dan Ashworth began work as sporting director whilst Christopher Vivell has arrived as head of recruitment.
And whilst Ashworth and Vivell will take the lead on many of their new summer transfer targets, they are very much aligned with the club’s thinking about Branthwaite.
United want two central defenders this summer
United want two new central defenders this summer and they have already shown who they want.
As well as bidding for Branthwaite, the Red Devils have also held talks to land Bayern Munich’s Matthijs de Ligt and Nice’s Jean-Clair Todibo.
Whilst a deal for De Ligt is progressing, as HITC revealed earlier this week, their talks over Todibo has been somewhat less straightforward with Uefa regulations preventing them from signing the French international.
HITC has confirmed that despite Uefa regulations, United have been doing background work on to see if they could get a deal for Todibo pushed through – but sources have told us that it looks ‘increasingly difficult’ which may point to significant reason they have returned to make a new offer for Branthwaite.
