Everton will only sign a striker on deadline day if they can complete a deal to offload Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
The Toffees are looking to make some late changes to Sean Dyche’s squad before the window slams shut on Friday night.
Everton are closing in on a deal for Ernest Nuamah and they are also close to signing midfielder Orel Mangala.
But further deadline-day deals could follow with Everton also on the lookout for a striker after Neal Maupay completed a move to Marseille.

Everton will look to bring in a striker, but only if Dominic Calvert-Lewin completes a move elsewhere.
Newcastle United have been linked with Calvert-Lewin this summer but that deal looks dead in the water with the Tyneside club pursuing other targets.
Chelsea had also shown an interest in Calvert-Lewin, but HITC understands that talks between Everton and the London club have fallen failed.
Chelsea only valued the 27-year-old at £12million which was well below Everton’s asking price.
They have now turned away from a deal and the deal has collapsed.
Chelsea offered two players in Calvert-Lewin swap deal
Chelsea are desperately looking to thin their squad ahead of Friday’s deadline and they were willing to include two players in a deal for Calvert-Lewin.
HITC understands that Chelsea proposed a permanent deal that would have included loan deals for Armando Broja and David Fofana.

Broja had come close to joining Ipswich Town earlier this summer but a deal fell apart and Chelsea were willing to let him join Everton.
However, Broja and Fofana are now in talks with other clubs as they are still set to leave Stamford Bridge this summer.
