Newcastle United will be eager to return to European football next season after narrowly missing out on qualification last season.
The Tyneside club are expected to be busy this summer as they tap into the wealth of their new owners to reinforce Eddie Howe‘s squad.
Newcastle United will want to return to the Champions League after competing with Europe’s elite in the competition last season.
They have already kicked off their summer business by making Lewis Hall‘s stay at St James’ Park permanent in a £28million deal.
Newcastle fans can expect more signings to come over the summer period while they will also want to fend off interest in stars such as Bruno Guimaraes and Alexander Isak.
Newcastle and Everton in the mix for midfield signing
With Sandro Tonali returning from his ban and Joelinton extending his stay with the club, central midfield isn’t exactly an area that Newcastle are desperate to address.
However, reports from Italy suggest that football agent Federico Pastorello is working on getting his client a move this summer with Newcastle and Everton named as potential suitors.
According to Gazzetta, former Liverpool midfielder Arthur Melo is likely to move on from Juventus this summer with agent Pastorello working to strike up a deal.
Arthur has returned to Turin following a loan deal at Fiorentina last season but his long-term future at Juventus is uncertain.
The report adds that nothing is concrete but Pastorello is looking to find a new club for his client with several teams interested.

Arthur’s loan deal at Liverpool was nothing short of disastrous. The 27-year-old played just 13 minutes of first-team football for the Reds in what was an injury-plagued stint in Merseyside.
However, he appears to have overcome his injury issues with 48 appearances across all competitions for Fiorentina last season.
